I was born in the small village of Soulinari, near Pylos, and have been living abroad since 2002. Over the years, life has taken me to Dallas, Chicago, Bangkok, Ljubljana, and Frankfurt. Today, I split my time between Munich and Budapest.

Despite living abroad, Greece has always remained a constant in my life. I’ve spent every summer there—many of them in Messinia, a place that continues to feel like home. It is, without question, my favorite holiday destination. Still largely unspoiled, Messinia offers a rare combination of warm, welcoming people, exceptional food, and remarkable diversity. It’s easy to reach, never overwhelmingly crowded, and often visited by those with personal ties to the region—people who, like me, have roots there but now live in Athens or abroad.

In recent years, more travelers have begun to discover Messinia’s quiet charm. Friends often ask me for recommendations, eager to experience it for themselves. That’s what inspired me to create this guide—a way to share the place where I was born with others. Whether you’re visiting iconic landmarks, uncovering hidden gems, or enjoying some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, this guide is designed to help you experience Messinia in a meaningful and memorable way.
